Commercial Systems Support Managers support the commercial systems and processes that facilitate and enable the effective use and operations for the Commercial function and wider business users of these systems.

They also support and develop the use of the commercial systems and associated processes that facilitate the operation of the Commercial function.  

Job Responsibilities
  • Act as the first point of contact in resolving user issues, answering queries and liaising with colleagues
  • Supporting the Commercial Analysts to monitor data integrity in the systems, and swiftly handling the resolution of critical or easily resolvable issues.
  • Supporting commercial systems functionality and scope, covering procurement, contract management, Purchase to Pay (P2P), and enabling activities such as pipeline management, contracts database, information systems and workflow.
  • Develop user guidance documentation and video guides on systems to increase self-service where not provided centrally.
  • Work with the Commercial Analysts to develop our reporting capabilities, particularly in the development of dashboards.
  • Undertake end-user training as necessary where not provided centrally.  This will include face to face end user support as well as utilising flexible working tools.
  • Support upskilling of the Commercial Analysts to provide greater first line support on key systems.
  • Support the implementation of new commercial systems and future developments, ensuring that plans and benefits are achieved, and that the new ways of working are embedded with compliance to the new systems and processes. This will include contributing to planning, training, roll out, governance, support and ongoing development.
  • Be a champion for continuous improvement activity with our systems including automation and business intelligence information.
  • Drive a culture of data integrity and ownership within the commercial function
  • Deputising for the Commercial Systems & Data Manager as appropriate


Experience Required

  • Working knowledge of commercial processes and UK procurement legislation in the public sector.
  • Relevant experience of working in a commercial/ procurement function.
  • Experience in Change Management.
  • Intermediate to advanced level knowledge of MS office applications including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence others.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
