We are talent sourcing for a BIM Manager to join the growing team working on the Sizewell C Project.

As part of this role you will support the Marine and Tunnelling (M&T) Portion of the Civil Works Alliance (CWA) to define and develop digital systems and processes that comply with requirements from client (SZC) and the CWA digital working group.

The ideal candidate will ensure the digital systems support the portion to achieve its goals in terms of design development, scheduling, procurement, and contractor led initiatives for digital construction. The role will require definition and assurance of Digitalisation Plan and Data Management and to act as a single point of interface for the M&T Portion for all matters relating to Digital Engineering, 3D Digital Management and Data Management applied in 3D environments.

Job Responsibilities
  • Key interfaces exist between the BIM Managers and Data & Digitalisation Coordinators of each Portions to ensure alignment of overall CWA and SZC Digitalisation, Data & Information Management Strategy and Programme Digitalisation Plans.
  • The role is expected to provide leadership for “digital by default” ways of working within the Engineering and Design function across all M&T scopes, drive skills development within the function, oversee delivery of relevant initiatives within the function, and represent the function as a subject matter and sponsor of relevant IT deployment initiatives to ensure that the objectives of Programmes and their Digitalisation Plans are met.
  • The role shall include management of a team including information managers and BIM technicians to support the broader M&T Portion and requirements in terms of design development, assembly of the project information model, coordination with interfacing stakeholders and client submission requirements including asset information deliverables. The BIM Manager shall report to the Engineering Manager for M&T Portion.

Experience Required

  • Excellent understanding of infrastructure project delivery processes and challenges
  • Hands-on experience and understanding of BIM delivery for large scale complex civil works and infrastructure in a contractor led environment, including 3D / BIM management / Spatial management/ Configuration management / Design change management / As-built management / Safety case management (min 10 years in total across areas).
  • Practical working knowledge of ISO19650 and development of work flows that support production of design outputs and asset management deliverables in a contractor led environment.
  • Preference for the candidate to have experience working in a design and build environment though not essential.
  • Desirable nuclear sector engineering experience.
  • Strong interest in and understanding of construction industry improvement agenda and the current industry-standard and industry-leading use of digital technologies and data within infrastructure project delivery.
  • Experience in digitalisation processes in a contractor led environment and driving digitally / data-enabled ways of working transformation initiatives, IT / technology deployments within the scope of the function.
  • Business analysis skills to identify process issues and process improvement opportunities within the function and its interfaces with other functions.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Confident leading workstreams and working as part of a team.
  • Desirable some Project Management and Change Management experience
